Admire without desire, and there is happiness

I have owned and shown Quarter Horses, Morgans, and now Arabs since 1978. My current Pinto ¾ Arab 12 year old mare had a rough start in life, despite good breeding. To make a long story short, I re-possessed her at 3 days old due to her poor care. She has had many movement issues from the get-go.

I met Cori and had her work her magic fingers on Mia. Her flexing became more fluid as did her movement. Her mental frame of mind greatly improved as she began feeling so much better. Her biggest issue was a "popping" right hip. That has gone away.

Mia is shown Western Pleasure in CO and WY in Arab Pinto shows. She earned her Register of Merit award from the Pinto Horse Association of America. She continues to work toward her first Award in Western Pleasure from the Arabian Horse Association.

Cori has done a wonderful job keeping Mia moving fluidly and smoothly despite her physical challenges. Chiropractic also helps, but Cori keeps the soft tissues in peak condition. Thank you, Cori!

It is hard enough when any horse shows signs of pain, it's heart wrenching when it's your beautiful baby horse.  Austin is my home bred Morgan whose father is a 5 time World Champion. When Austin was 5 months old I noticed him favoring his hind leg. I thought it was a sprain, but when he showed no signs of improvement, I put Austin through countless vet visits, and tried every supplement that was recommended with no improvement; his condition got worse. The vet put him on 6 months minimum stall rest. During these miserable months of confinement, twice Austin was physically unable to get up without assistance from four adults. Feeling hopeless at his prognosis, I was contemplating putting him down. The vet came out and drained the fluid off of Austin's stifles, and gave him some cortisone shots, which at least enabled him to get up on his own. Desperate, I started calling all my horse friends to see what they would do. Chiropractors, different vets, acupuncturists, and more magical supplements were suggested, but nothing sounded right. I finally was referred to Corrine Fierkens of She Touches Horses. Corrine came out and worked on Austin for a couple of months. I noticed a change immediately and Austin steadily improved. Not only did his attitude change, but his manners, his movement, his comfort level, and even his muscle structure did, too! I was shocked with how changing a few small things that Corrine suggested, and what she did with Austin could improve his situation so much. The "homework" she gave us also helped Austin and I to bond, something we needed after our frustrating ordeal. Corrine has done a fabulous job with him and I can't thank her enough.

Corrine has worked with my horse, a 15 year old Hanoverian as well as some of my client's horses. I find that she has a gentle approach and horses respond very well to her.
Her work has certainly supported the efforts of my chiropractor, she has been able to deepen the effects of the chiropractic work. She is quite knowledgeable about the horse's biomechanics and skeleton and therefore able to work in tandem with other health professionals as well as the rider. Her capable hands make the horses more supple and more willing to work. I certainly recommend her.

I have known Corrine for several years. She has worked on my horse Truffle, a five-year-old Friesian-cross, multiple times. Whenever Truffle is tight or sore, I have complete confidence that Corrine will be able to restore her flexibility and comfort. Her visits are pleasant for my horse and there is always a noticeable difference in the performance of my mare. When I watch Corrine’s sessions with horses, I have continually been impressed with how she allows them to process and focus. She has an exceptional touch directed by her extensive knowledge of horse anatomy. Corrine will always be my first choice!

aaaaaaaaaaaaiii

Victor and I wholeheartedly recommend that you have Cori perform her equine touch on your horse, she may help you remove a roadblock to your horse's improved performance.
I'd been riding my horse Victor Z, an eleven year old 17h Friesian gelding, for five years without giving much thought to his muscles and soft tissue for two reasons; Guys just get on and ride, and though I knew that Victor was a little crooked and stiff and moved different going clockwise versus counter-clockwise, I figured "Hey, I'm a little crooked and stiff, too."

Cori had been watching us for years and finally approached me about allowing her to perform her equine bodywork on Victor. I wasn't sure what she did or how it might affect my horse but I had so much respect for Cori's knowledge about horses I said, "Sure, let's try it."

Cori had two sessions with Victor and I observed the third. Victor really seemed to like Cori's touch. He sighed, he quivered, and his head dropped as his body got more flexible throughout the session. It looked like a spa treatment for my horse.

After the session Cori gave me the debrief. She explained everything that she had done and what she found. Victor had some tight muscles and was a little sensitive in a few areas. No big deal, I thought; it all sounded fairly normal. But she had one other observation about my horse I had never noticed. She showed me how Victor could easily turn at the poll to the left but not to the right. When he turned his head to the right he lead with his right jaw instead of his nose. His movement was blocked, the big guy had a problem that I hadn't noticed! She said this was contributing to his bracing on my right rein.

Cori demonstrated how the bodywork had freed it up, but that he still had habit and muscle memory to overcome. She recommended some flexing movements that I incorporated into my warm-up exercises. Today, Victor has more freedom in his movement and is more symmetrical. I attribute that to Cori's hands-on holistic review and her attention to a problem that was affecting my horse's flexibility and our riding progress.
